Thank you for your service! Our military recruiting team members at Werner are military veterans. We understand it takes a certain individual to serve their country. At Werner, we believe “Average is for other people.” If you have served your country, we already know you are above average. Having separated from the military ourselves, we also understand the challenges you face as you try to determine your next career. The Werner military recruiting team has many options for you and is here to help you every step of the way. Whether you have experience in transportation and logistics or not, we have great opportunities for you to continue to serve your country at Werner by helping to keep America moving.

We have opportunities across the country, including driving, maintenance, office and management positions. Below are the next steps you can take in launching your new career.

Transition from your military career

Want to be a driver but do not have a CDL?

If you’re interested in driving, we can help you obtain your Class A CDL. Whether you have no driving experience or some driving experience, you have many options.

If you’re in a transportation MOS in the military, you may qualify for a Military Skills Test Waiver. This allows you to waive the driving test and simply take a written test at your DMV to obtain your Class A CDL.

You may also reside in a state participating in the Even Exchange Program. This allows you to exchange your military license with the Military Skills Test Waiver for a CDL at your DMV. At Werner, we credit you with experience for your military driving if you provide your Military Skills Test Waiver.

If you don’t have any driving experience, we are proud Skillbridge and Career Skills Program partners. We can provide the necessary training to obtain your CDL at no cost while you’re still on active duty at one of our Roadmaster CDL school locations. Should you choose to attend a CDL school on terminal leave, we can connect you to one of our partner CDL schools near you, and offer tuition reimbursement.
