How do I become a carrier for Werner?

What is Okta?

What do I need to become an approved carrier?

Our onboarding site will walk you through the process, but to become an approved carrier we will require that you provide the following:

Provide proof of insurance
- Minimum $100,000 cargo insurance
- Minimum $1,000,000 auto liability
- Minimum $1,000,000 general liability preferred
- Insurer with B+V or better A.M. best rating
- Other requirements per completed contract
Complete an electronic contract
Complete a carrier profile
Have operating authority
- - Must have a valid interstate or intrastate authority (intrastate-only carrier must also have an active U.S. DOT number)
  - Must have been in business a minimum of two months
- Provide complete tax forms

How long does it take to go through the qualification process?

On average, the carrier onboarding process typically takes about 10-15 minutes.

How do I sign up for Werner’s load board, Werner EDGE for Carriers?

Once you are set up as an approved carrier with Werner, you can access Werner EDGE here. On the menu bar on the left-hand side, click “sign-up”.

What are my freight options?

Werner has a variety of freight options for alliance carriers. These include full truckload for van, flatbed and reefer.

Is there a cost to use Werner EDGE for Carriers?

There is no cost to use our self-service platform, Werner EDGE.

Is Werner EDGE for Carriers mobile friendly?

Werner EDGE is a mobile friendly platform and you can access available loads here.

How to Make a Mobile Icon for Werner EDGE for Carriers

2. Click the three dots in top right corner

3. Click Add to Home Screen

4. Confirm the Name you Would Like for the Application and hit add

5. Click Add to Home Screen

6. You will now see the icon as an app on your mobile phone

2. Click the square with arrow at the bottom of the browser.

3. Click Add to Home Screen.

4. Enter the name you would like to use for the application and click Add.

If you have questions about the load, please contact Werner at 800.346.2820.

Can I book power only loads through Werner EDGE for Carriers?

At this time, carriers are not able to book power only loads through Werner EDGE, but that feature is coming soon. Werner EDGE is a feedback-driven platform so there are many exciting new features coming in the future to meet our carriers’ needs.

How can I sign up to be a power only carrier?

To become a power only carrier, you can get in touch with our team by emailing [email protected] or call 800.848.5218.

How quickly do I receive payment?

It depends on the payment profile you have set up. If you are factoring, you get paid based on your factoring company’s terms. If you have Quick Pay, you will receive your payment within five days of when the invoice is received.
